"Hello!" Project

The “Hello!" Project invites the West Richmond community to discover and collaborate on community engaged activities with Sandi Liang, the 2020 Artist-In-Residence at West Richmond Community Centre.

The “Hello!” project aims to activate the community centre's outdoor space as a learning and sharing platform to connect multigenerations, foster intercultural dialogue and build community through art and storytelling.

Sandi is the 2020 Artist-In-Residence at West Richmond Community Centre. She was born in Guangzhou, China and immigrated to Canada with her family at the age of 15. Sandi graduated from Emily Carr University of Art + Design with a BFA in Visual Arts.

As an artist, Sandi's area of interest is working with community and everyday life using a variety of mediums. Her work explores the collective experience and builds connections through community collaboration.

Community Centre

The West Richmond Community Centre is located at 9180 No. 1 Road, Richmond BC. Outdoor amenities include basketball courts, children's playground, outdoor fitness circuit, picnic tables, six tennis courts with lights, soccer, baseball, and football fields, and the West Richmond Pitch and Putt Golf Course. The Community Centre also offers satellite programs at Gilmore Elementary School and Hugh Boyd Secondary.

The West Richmond Community Association is committed to connecting with multigenerational and culturally diverse community members through childcare programs, special events, fitness programs, youth opportunities, and adult and seniors activities.
